A rare handmade Irish lace collar from the late 19th or early 20th century.
The three-dimensional motifs, crocheted stitch by stitch, have an elegant design reminiscent of flowers and plants, and demonstrate the high level of craftsmanship of the time.

The combination of the delicately woven mesh and the three-dimensional cordwork creates a stunning effect, creating beautiful shadows when the light catches it. It was a popular accent piece used to decorate the collars of dresses and blouses, adding a touch of elegance to outfits.
